This works intends to analyze and reflect on the current legislation and legislative proposals for the public policy for the elimination of hunger and for the promotion of the social function of food. On the context of the Brazilian democratic consolidation, had the goal of the evolution of the normative content of the Human Right to Adequate Food (HRAF) and its guarantees, and also the National System of Food and Nutritional Security (NSFNS).
