The article aims to critically analyze the National School Food Program, including its implementation, execution and monitoring systems. So, at first, there is a brief presentation of the program. Next, their goals and monitoring systems are listed. Afterwards, the results of the research that intended to assess how the implementation of this public policy in the concrete plan is being presented are exposed, pointing out possible incompatibilities with the planned planning. For this purpose, investments made in terms of human and financial resources are disclosed. Continuously, adopting a commitment to reality, the services that have been effectively provided at national, regional and state levels are reported. Afterwards, the work critically analyzes whether the practical result intended when planning the policy is being achieved. Finally, it is concluded that the goals of the National School Feeding Program are not being fully achieved and the monitoring systems tend to be restricted to controlling the resources invested and the services provided, without actually worrying about the result. intended end – the biopsychosocial growth of the students –, which would be fundamental for the fundamental right to be taken seriously.
