The present work analyzes the Autonomous Social Services in the Brazilian scenario. These entities are not part of the Indirect Administration and are characterized by developing private activities of collective and social interest, cooperating with the Government. After the 1988 Constitution, it was created new entities as Autonomous Social Services. We wonder if in the current legal scenario there are two different types of entities called Autonomous Social Services. This is not a purely terminological question, but a question that aims to establish the type of control and rules that these new Services will be subject to.
